Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients

Method

  • 500 g lean beef, stir-fry cut
  • 1 tbsp ginger, crushed
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1/2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1/2 cup water

  1. Mix the beef with the ginger, garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. 
  2. Heat sesame oil in a wok or large frying pan and stir-fry the onions until softened
  3. Add the beef and continue to cook until browned
  4. Add the broccoli and sliced carrots, and cook until tender
  5. Mix together the cornflour and water then slowly add to the pan stiring constantly until the sauce thickens
  6. Serve with brown rice and sliced chili

Tips:

  • For best results, we recommend marinating your beef overnight. Although cooking immediately will still produce delicious results.

    Making sure the Wok or frying pan is very hot! Stir frys get their delicious flavour from high heat cooking!
  • How do you keep the beef from getting tough in the stir fry?
    After cooking the beef, remove it and then cook the vegetables. This will ensure that the beef doesn’t get overcooked. Once the vegetables are cooked, add the beef back in to make sure everything is hot when you serve it.
