Tandoori chicken pizza

Tandoori chicken pizza? It’s even better than it sounds. This Indian-inspired pizza is super easy to make and is a great way to use up leftovers like roast chicken. Tandoori chicken usually requires marinating chicken pieces in yogurt and spices, then cooking in a clay oven. We’ve taken a shortcut so you can enjoy this tandoori-style chicken pizza sooner!

  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 1 pizza base
  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 100g shredded chicken
  • 3 tbsp Patak’s Tandoori paste
  • ¼ red onion, sliced
  • ½ red capsicum, sliced
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a large frying pan. Combine shredded chicken and Tandoori paste in a bowl. Fry the chicken until it is slightly crispy on the edges.
  3. To assemble the pizza, spread pizza sauce over the base, then sprinkle half the mozzarella over top. Top with Tandoori chicken, red onion and capsicum. Add the remaining half of the mozzarella.
  4. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the base is crispy.

Tips and FAQs

For a twist, use Tandoori Simmer Sauce instead of pizza sauce as the base of your pizza.

Serve topped with chopped, fresh coriander and a dollop of raita or cucumber and mint yoghurt.

How do you freeze homemade pizza?  
Double wrap in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for up to 2 months. 

Is it better to freeze pizza cooked or uncooked?   
For the freshest option, freeze pizza before cooking!
