Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake
Fancy a quick and easy chocolate cake? This is a great recipe to whip up when you don't feel like baking. Using simple pantry staples, our easy chocolate mug cake is a must try!

- ¼ cup flour
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
- ⅛ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp water
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- In a microwave-safe mug, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Pour in the wet ingredients: milk, oil, water, and vanilla extract into the mug. Stir until you have a smooth batter. Make sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the mug to fully incorporate all ingredients.
- Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for about 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave's wattage. The cake should rise and then slightly collapse when it's done.
- After microwaving, carefully touch the top of the cake to see if it springs back slightly and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
To serve:
Let the cake cool for a minute or two before enjoying it directly from the mug.
