Cooking precooked frozen sausages
Precooked sausages have been cooked completely for your convenience but still need reheating before they can be eaten.
If you have a bag of precooked sausages in the freezer and want to cook them quickly the best method is to place the sausages in a pan of boiling water, cover and simmer for 10 minutes until they are piping hot with an internal temperature of 71℃. They will look and taste much nicer if you then dry them, brush with oil and brown on the BBQ, in a frying pan or under the grill for 5 minutes.
Precooked frozen sausages can also be added directly to soups and casseroles where they will reheat in the liquid.
